This is our definition question:

What is animal cruelty?

Animal cruelty is when someone abuses or hurts an animal.
For example testing things on them for example, make-up or new medicine.
Also it is cruel for aniamls to be used for entertainment.
It's cruel and wrong no animal should be treated unfairly.
There are groups like Greenpeace trying to stop this but it will go on and no animal can do a thing to stop it.

These are our background questions:

Why do people do animal cruelty?
How many animals die each year because of animal cruelty?
Where is animal cruelty happening the most?
What animals get abused the most?

Why do people do animal cruelty?

People hurt animals for experiments because they're worried about testing things on themselves because it might hurt them.
They do it for the entertainment of others. For example bullfighting and rodeos.
People hurt animals for the meat or fur and somethimes even skins.
Thousands of animals are killed because of sport like sealing, whaling and hunting.

How many animals die each year because of animal cruelty:

About 6840 animals die each year because of animal cruelty.

Where does animal cruelty happen the most?

Mostly China, Japan and Canada because Japan kills whales. China is simply cruel to animals
and Canadians have a new sport called Seal Whacking.

Vist S.P.C.A and do some volunteer work.
Put up posters around Napier and the school.
Do Pet sitting for people who can't do it.
Take dogs for a walk for people who can't do it.
Interview S.P.C.A owner
Hand out leaflets.
Have wacky hairday donate money/food S.P.C.A.
